Marvin and Barb Jackson head up the base operations at Sundog Solar.  Marvin, from Sundre, grew up on a family dairy and beef operation in Sundre, Alberta.  He attended Olds College receiving a degree in Business finance and Livestock production.  He and his wife Barb, raise beef cattle and quarter horses with their two daughters.  A fourth generation in Canadian Agriculture, Marvin quickly realized the benefits in remote solar watering and energizers for rotational grazing at the farm level.  In the spring of 2000, Sundog Solar and Agriculture Supplies was opened which quickly expanded into winter watering systems, transfer systems and portable solar and windpowered pumping designs.  Marvin enjoys talking to fellow farmers about how solar can transform their livestock operations, and can also discuss pitfalls he has learned in his travels.

Barb handles the day to day criteria at Sundog solar.  She too grew up on a beef and registered Percheron horse farm near Sundre and traveled the show circuit with champions like "Cedarview's Lonesome wee Willie."
